🕒 Law 21,180 is not postponed: time is running out for municipalities.
In Chile, the State Digital Transformation Law (Law 21.180) establishes that all public sector administrative procedures must be digital by 2027. But by mid-2025, most municipalities have not yet completed even the first phases.
What does this law imply for municipalities?
- Simpler, traceable, and paperless procedures.
- Mandatory implementation of platforms such as SIMPLE, FirmaGob and ClaveÚnica.
- Interoperability between departments and transparency towards citizens.
- A profound cultural change for officials and taxpayers.
What happens if it is not fulfilled on time?
Although it does not include direct sanctions, noncompliance affects the institutional image, hinders internal efficiency, and compromises access to public funds that require digitalized processes.
Is there time? Yes, but not much.
At PMC33, we have designed a 90-day implementation model that has already been successfully implemented in Huechuraba and has been proposed to other municipalities.
What does this model include?
- Express diagnosis of critical procedures.
- Modeling and implementation on the SIMPLE platform.
- Functional training and change management.
- Support for the official throughout the entire process.
